dc.description.abstract | Due to the continuous increase in power demand, offshore wind farms (OWFs) are increasing consistently since last decade. Normally OWFs are located at very long distance from the onshore grid. VSC based HVDC link is the economic option to interconnect the OWFs with the onshore grid. An application of multi-terminal networks into the HVDC link is continuously increasing. In this paper, a three-terminal VSC based HVDC link connected OWFs is modeled and its performance is analysed using PSCAD/EMTDC. The response of the proposed HVDC system is analysed under different wind conditions and various power system fault conditions. In addition, Harmonic performance of HVDC system is analysed. The final emphasis of this paper is to assess transient behaviour of multi-terminal VSC-HVDC systems. 2017 IEEE. | en_US |
